Lumo Bagh-Chal

Tigers & Goats on a carved 3D board, face to face.

Version 1.0.1 · Frameworks QBCore · Qbox · ESX · standalone

Installation · Config files · Exports & events · Changelog

Bagh-Chal (Tigers & Goats), the classic board game from Nepal, played on a real carved wooden board with tiger and goat pieces, placed on a table in the GTA world. Two players sit face to face and click the board to move. There is no 2D game screen.

QBCore · Qbox · ESX · Standalone (detected automatically) · by Lumo · https://lumo-server.tebex.io/

Features

  • Custom 3D board and pieces: a streamed wooden board with tiger and goat models sits on every placed table, so the café looks set up even when nobody is playing.
  • Animated moves: goats fly in from the goats-left row and drop onto their point. Pieces slide along the lines, and tigers jump in an arc while the captured goat sinks away into the captured row.
  • DUI board face: lines, legal-move highlights, names, goats left, captures, whose turn it is and the result, all drawn on the board itself.
  • Two cameras: a close seated view over the board and a wide view of both players. Switch with the mouse wheel or V.
  • Play against AI: pick tigers or goats, and an NPC sits in the opponent's chair.
  • Admin table placement (/baghchaltables): fly camera and gizmo, a choice of table and chair models, auto-arranged chairs. Saved to the database and spawned for everyone.
  • Server-authoritative rules: every placement, slide and jump is validated on the server.
  • Optional stakes and item reward, challenges from the target eye, spectators and a leaderboard.
  • Themed lobby panel (walnut, brass and dhaka cloth) docked on the left.
  • 0.00 ms idle.

Requirements

ResourceNeeded?
oxmysqlRequired
qb-core / qbx_core / es_extendedOptional, detected automatically (standalone works too)
ox_target / qb-targetOptional. Without one, players walk up and press E
object_gizmo + ox_libNeeded to move/rotate props in the admin placement tool
ox_lib / qb-menuOptional: nicer leaderboard and prompts

Installation

  1. Put the lumo-baghchal folder in your resources folder.
  2. In server.cfg, ensure it after oxmysql, your framework and your target:
    ensure oxmysql
    ensure ox_lib
    ensure qb-core # or qbx_core / es_extended / nothing
    ensure ox_target # or qb-target / nothing
    ensure object_gizmo
    ensure lumo-baghchal
  3. Start the server. The database tables are created automatically (sql/install.sql is included if you prefer to import it by hand).
  4. In game, as an admin, run /baghchaltables → + New table here → place it → Save. The board appears on the table and players can play.

  • Tigers slide along the lines or jump a goat in a straight line to capture it.
  • Tigers win after capturing Config.CaptureToWin goats (default 5). Goats win by trapping every tiger.

Configuration

Everything is in config.lua and commented. The options owners change most:

OptionDefaultWhat it does
Config.Framework'auto'Force 'qbx', 'qb', 'esx' or 'standalone'
Config.Target'auto'Force 'ox', 'qb' or 'none' (built-in E prompt)
Config.AllowSolotrueGames against AI
Config.CaptureToWin / TotalGoats5 / 20Rules
Config.BetoffCash stake, winner takes the pot (not vs AI)
Config.WinRewardoffChance of an item for the winner
Config.Admin.tableModels / chairModels4 / 5 modelsProps offered in the admin panel
Config.Table3DtunedCamera, animation speed, hover colour

Seat height: change that chair model's sitZ in Config.Admin.chairModels. For NPCs only, use Config.BotSitZ.

Troubleshooting

  • "Admins only" — add your group to Config.Admin.permissions, or add_ace group.admin command allow.
  • No board on the table — the stream/ folder must be intact. Clear the FiveM cache after updating.
  • No "Play Bagh-Chal" option — start your target resource before lumo-baghchal, or set Config.Target = 'none'.
  • Clicks land on the wrong point — set Config.Table3D.debugPoints = true, check the numbering, then flip faceFlipU / faceFlipV.
